Getting There
Ferries / Eurotunnel

Short crossings.
Eurotunnel (08705 353 535 www.eurotunnel.com) do four crossings and hour in peak season from Ashford (M20) to Calais - the journey takes around 35 minutes and pet travel is very good - it's what we always use.

There are many UK ferry companies to choose from operating from Southampton, Dover, Folkestone, Harwich arriving at Calais, Dunkirk, Le Havre and so on. The choice of routes means competition and ferry prices are usually quite reasonable.

French ferry terminals, like most airports, are either on a motorway or a stones throw from a motorway and, if like us, you are used to the huge traffic volumes in the UK and the poor condition of much of the road network, then French motorways are a joy to use and make it very easy to drive to Maureilhan from the coast of Northern France.
